    Size/Weight/Age: Max length : 8.5 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 48637 )
    Distribution: Tropical; 22°C - 30°C (Ref. 27115 ); 30°N - 2°N Indo-West Pacific: Red Sea, Aldabra, Seychelles, Ryukyu Islands, Yaeyama Islands; Palau, Truk, and Pohnpei in Micronesia.
    Description: Dorsalspines (total): 7; Dorsalsoft rays (total): 15-16; Analspines: 1; Analsoft rays: 15 - 16. Has a similar pattern to that of A. rainfordi, but is bluish-black rather than green, with yellow longitudinal stripes and a chain of ocelli from the base of the second dorsal fin to the upper caudal rays.
    Biology: Inhabits sheltered bays and inner reefs on fine rubble shaded by large living corals (Ref. 48637 ). Occurs solitarily, hovering a short distance above sandy bottoms of reef bases. Stomach contents of one specimen comprise of filamentous algae, harpacticoid copepods, ostracods, amphipods, and nematodes (Ref. 9360 ).
