Time to start pulling Banggai eggs and artifically incubating them.

I have had a pair of Banggai that have continually spawned. However, the last 4 spawns that male has eaten the eggs. I am thinking it is time to pull them again and artifically incubate. What do the rest of you think? Here is link to my breeding journal on the pair. http://www.masm.org/mForums/tm.aspx?m=38445

I say go for it! Worse case you can compare which way gives you the greater overall output.

I may have to resort to this method soon too as my male isn't holding very long either.

Any update as to your success? I need to get a male to pair with my current female and have considered going the artificial incubation route.

I have had one spawn since then. I wasn't set up and ready to incubate them. I have had some thoughts about moving this pair since they are in a 29G cube in living room with my loud 3 year old. I have some open space in my breeding set up downstairs where I can put them. I haven't completely decided yet

i have just started artificial incubation on a batch . i am curious how sensitive to fungal / bacterial infection the eggs are ? should there be preventative measures in place while incubating ?

A couple drops of methylene blue should do well. Just tint the water blue.

I tried artificially incubating Banggai eggs in 2008 and had very limited luck. I think sanitation needs to be better than what I was doing which was pretty much no sanitation measures. Methylene blue sounds like a good idea.
