And, the question again: A.Ocellaris - Does your misbar broodstock produce natural offspring? I have black/white misbar ocellaris broodstock and it appears that they are only producing misbar offspring. What advise do you have as i am eager to produce natural offspring as well.

Water quality and better foods. Darwin's are notorious for misbarring but many people have had good success reaching high percentage of regular markings. Are you using TDO?

I haven't found parental patterning to have any bearing on the offspring. As Daniel said, Darwins tend to throw a lot of mis-bars.

I've found the same thing as Tal, our misbar broodstock produced as many fullbar offspring as our fullbar broodstock.

It's my opinion that juvenile patterning in clownfish is determined by water quality and diet during the early stages of development. A balanced parental diet helps produce higher quality eggs and better hatch rates. Clownfish larvae are started on rotifers and RotiGrow+ and then weaned onto Top Dressed Otohime (TDO). Good water quality is important too. I feed my broodstock a wide variety of frozen foods. Multiple smaller meals are better than one or two large ones.

I must add that all my fish receive the same husbandry and i find that my full bar, orange ocellaris produce natural offspring.

We covered that already. Darwins throw more misbars than regular A. ocellaris.
