I bought a couple of lettuce nudis today, and wonder if someone can help me ID the species. Based on reviewing the sea slug forum, I think they are either crispata or clarki. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking closer at these today makes me think they are clarki. The parapodia leave the dorsal body visible. Apparently with crispata, the parapodia fuse dorsally.

Ok, so now I'm back to thinking they are crispata. The parapodia do seem to be fused anteriorly, and the foot has no spots. Here is a pic of both on some chaeto.

As I read the descriptions for the two species on Sea Slug forums, it would seem that the ventral portion of the foot is where you might see a difference; so you might be right. Check this post for further info - http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/16728 I'd want more images to be sure, but I'm inclined to lean towards E. crispata as well for the moment. (actually, I looked back up at the first images...yup, I really think E. crispata is the correct ID based on the information we have).

Matt, thanks for that link. It nicely reviews the differences in the three species.
