It looks like about 50 have hatched. I checked the pipe and there are still a lot of eggs left. They don't look like they've fungused so I'll give them another day.

I did that too. Shaking works better and IS more fun. Get the flashlight on them as well.

You plan to start them on rots? And Tal,you don´t need to kill any larvae to take pics.I can tell you how.

Rots are fine for them. You need a thick well slide glass.You scoop the larva in there and then carefully pipette the water out until it remains still on its side.You take the pics quickly and put the water back.Then you free the larva by carefully dipping the slide in the tank.

Yeah, I would do that but I don't have a well slide on hand and I need a new pipette.
